It ‘s not possible, she whispers to herself. No sir, truly an impossibility, she thinks. Andy almost convinces herself when she says that. But it is indeed lunch hour, she has just interviewed a politician and she and her former boss are indeed staring at each other in the ladies’ room.
Andy thinks she has never been in such a tense situation. Her stomach is in a knot and she is probably not breathing. In fact, she is panicking. Miranda looks right in her eyes, and Andy knows she is being judged. Holy mother, how unlucky can a girl get?
-
Andy apologizes weakly. She almost starts to stammer. She’s not lying: she is sorry for how everything ended, and she misses Runway more than she thought she would. She does miss Nigel, being pushed to her best, the great clothing for free, and Miranda, who is still a sight for sore eyes. Andy reaches for her hand without thinking. To her surprise, she isn’t repelled right away. The older woman just looks at her, surprised. Miranda has really soft hands. She asks Andy why.
Andy sighs and looks down. She invites Miranda to dinner. Miranda accepts. It can’t be happening.
-
They dine together on Andy’s favorite little French restaurant. It’s awkard. Unconfortable. You could cut the tension in the air with a knife. But Andy is not a reporter without merits. And she can carry a decent conversation when needed.
Miranda is the one who calls inviting to their second dinner together, in this expensive Italian restaurant. Andy has no idea where this is going. She is starting to enjoy the other woman’s company, if that is possible.
Miranda is supposed to be the Dragon Lady, but the woman Andy is getting to know is not like that at all.

I must say I myself am anxious too, writing DWP is such a responsibility!
Secondly, as ou're new to the fandom, feel free to ask for some fic sugestions: there are some really great stuff out there!
Resounding yes!
Have you taken a look in part II and III? Part IV is already being written, I'll finish it as soon as my new year's hangover goes away!
